Shane Pack Live

Bio
Shane Pack hails from the city of Cookeville, Tennessee located somewhere off I-40 right between Nashville and Knoxville. He works too many hours supervising the food departments in a Wal-Mart Supercenter to do much song writing, but somehow he squeezes in enough time for both. Inspired by a Southern Gospel Group at the Boma First Church of God at the age of 11, one of the gospel pickers taught him three chords, and that's all she wrote.

Forming a rock and roll band know as Renegade with some high school class mates, Pack went on to play Christmas, birthday, and whatever may be the occasion parties with the band. As high school came to an end, so too did the Renegade era. The band started out as rockers with ear rings and mullets, but soon began drifting apart physically and musically. Pack found himself pulled toward folk and Americana style music after a friend introduced him to the music of John Prine. Shane became a huge fan of John Prine, following him around the country for live shows, and eventually creating and hosting a website devoted to the folkie and his music.

After spending years focusing on Prine, Pack's interests began to branch out. He picked up on Todd Snider, a member of Prine's Oh Boy Record Label at the time. Seeing Todd Snider live, Pack discovered Peter Cooper opening for Snider at Chattanooga's Midtown. This began a long term hobby of collecting CD's, listening to them for hours, and reviewing them on his website. Other influences and reviews have included Rod Picott, John Neilson, Ryan Adams, and most recently Jim Hoehn.

Pack enjoys time at home with his wife, seven year old son, big fat pug, and a new baby on the way. He says, "Music has always been a love of mine, and I guess it's more of a hobby than anything. But the idea of recording my own material and being able to share it with musicians around the world is very satisfying. When you create something, whether it's art or music or whatever, most of the time you want someone to see it or hear it. That's what this project is all about."
